Shir Hadash standing committees

Liturgy Committee (David Dropkin and Judy Tolkan, Co-Chairs): Plans and coordinates services, and advises our board on liturgical issues.

Programming Committee: Plans and coordinates special programs, and assists other committees in planning programs.

Adult Education Committee (Rocille McConnell, Chair): Provides classes and other educational activities for adults.

Youth Education Committee (Risa Berg Iskandarsjach and Bonnie Mclean, Co-Chairs): Coordinates classes and educational activities for Shir Hadash children of all ages.

Life-Cycle Committee (Ember Beck, Chair): Responds, on behalf of the congregation, to members’ life-cycle events.

Social Justice Committee (Karyn Rotker, Chair): Provides opportunites for tzedakah -- in the form of action, money and education -- on selected programs or projects.

Youth Activities Committee: Plans and conducts activities for the children of Shir Hadash and coordinates baby-sitting for High Holiday services.

Communications Committee (Larry Sandler, Chair): Coordinates our newsletter, Web site, public relations and other communications activities. Our Newsletter Editor and Webmaster is Neal Linkon, our Public Relations Coordinator is Chris Gilbert, and our Calendar Editor is Rea Katz.

Finance Committee (Jim Hagen, Chair): Develops our annual budget and dues structure.

Financial Review Committee (Sandy Mitz, Chair): Reviews our books and recommends accounting changes.

Fundraising Committee (Sam Essak, Chair): Plans and conducts programs to expand our financial resources.

Membership Committee (Dori Frankel Steigman, Co-Chairs): Coordinates our efforts to attract, welcome and retain members.
